The whole lead paint, made in china, children's toy thing has my panties in a serious bunch. I wasn't thinking about the toys I had as being "painted". I just thought the plastic came colored like that. I know, I'm an idiot.
So, I was looking to see which of Elizabeth's toys are made in China. Turns out, all but one. Holy crap! Talk about having a reason to take some Xanax. None of them are on the recall list. But, turns out the recall list is all Fisher Price toys and you know what? All of her toys are Fisher Price.... except the ONE that was made in Mexico. Viva la Mexico! What other toys can you make that won't make my baby irritable and stupid?
Now I'm left wondering if I should just dispose of those toys or at least not let her use them until they find out more. Is there a way I can test for lead content on the toys? Are any toys made in America (I'm gonna go ahead and assume that's a no)...
I don't know what to do. I feel a lot of pressure to do the right thing on this one. It's not like choosing the wrong thing won't have any effect. She'll end up on the short bus and be pretty unbearable to be around. I do not want THAT KID. Watch she'll end up being the obnoxious kid with the IQ of 2 anyway. I'm just saying, cut us parents a break here. As if it isn't hard enough. Now we have to worry about whether or not toys are poisoning our children.
